Buskerfest

Wow, that was worse then Taste of the Danforth, at least as far as crowds go.

But daddy did learn things, at least for his balloon sculpture. I.e. we'd have to send to the states to get the professional balloons, putting the balloons in the fridge to keep them good, and one of the books daddy got from the library was done by the uncle of the guy that gave us the advice.

I got to visit with my costume designer, who noticed that my cape had changed.
And we got to visit with our volunteer paramedic friends, who were quite busy.

This Saturday daddy is going to be making balloon decorations for the party, long chains, and a balloon flower.

Practice makes perfect

In less then two weeks we are going to be at my great grandma's birthday party, daddy's grandma, (her actual birthday isn't until November), but the whole family is coming together to celebrate on the 31st of August.

Daddy has been thinking of what he could do as a job for the party, and he's got two ideas. The first is using his craft talent to help the kids make a GIANT card for great grandma, and to make balloon animals for the kids. Daddy used to help with a "kids club" when we lived in our old apartment downtown, one of the things he taught himself was how to make balloon animals. So of course one of them he found is a balloon bunny, and he tried to do it yesterday, and just to show off a bit, here are some pictures of it.

Daddy has to do a bit more practicing to get it perfect, but I think it's really cool.

The other thing daddy is thinking of is videographer, to record the party for the whole family to have a copy of. Also he needs the practice to get ready for Bunfest next month, because we are going to be the official bloggers again this year.

But there is still time before that, this week we have Buskerfest, and Aloha Toronto to go to. Buskerfest is all about street performers (called Buskers) they close of a street and they perform right out on the street.
Aloha Toronto is a Hawaiian themed event to raise money for Autism Spectrum Disorder research (daddy has Aspergers, which is a milder form of Autism), so daddy wants to go and see if there is anything for Aspies. And it should be fun for me too, because it is being held at a beach, and I love playing in the sand (see digging).
I love to dig

One of my many bunstruction projects I did at a beach

Next month is the Beach Celtic Festival and the Pipes and Drums of the Royal Canadian Highland Regiment The Black Watch, are going to be there. Then there is an event that I've never been to called Word on the Street, daddy says that it is all about books and reading. The reason I've never been to it is because in previous years it was held the same day as Bunfest, and there was no real contest as to which event we wanted to attend. This year they are being held a week apart, so we can go to both, and daddy says that my great grand aunt is going to be coming too (did I mention she loves books and reading?)
That is just one little bit of shelf, she's got tons more books
That is my original stroller (with me inside), what you might call my baby stroller, bUNCLE Picasso has this one now.

a very long trip

Daddy got an email from his worker telling him about an upcoming trip he could go on, some place called the Falls. I'm not sure what that is, or why we would want to see things falling.

Okay, daddy now says that the full name of the place is Niagara Falls, and it is a BIG waterfall. That makes a bit more sense, but I still don't get what is so special about it. But if daddy says it's worth going to see, but I'm not big on going places with water that might get me wet, and from what I know of waterfalls there is usually mist, which is tiny bits of water.

Daddy also tells me that some of Superman 2 was filmed in Niagara Falls, and you know me and my love of all things Superman. So maybe I'll get to pretend to be Superbun when I'm there, I'll need to get daddy to let me watch Superman 2 so I can see the scenes and practice my roll for when we go.

Taste of the Danforth 2013

Today me and daddy went to a festival called Taste of the Danforth, it takes place in Greek town (because it is a Greek festival after all).

cultured bunny

Yesterday grandma got me and daddy tickets to see a musical at the Elgin, we got to sit and enjoy the show, but not down with the peasants, we got to sit in one of the box seats where the rich people sit to see shows.

Oh, I guess I should tell a little about the show we went to see. The show is called Umoja, which is about the music of Africa. Daddy has seen the show once before when it was here a few years ago, and he told me that I would really like it. Umoja is the Swahili word for unity, the theme of show is about how music can bring people together. Daddy was right, I really did enjoy it, although the narrator of the story was a little hard to understand, I was able to figure out what he was referring to by watching the scene on stage.

My new pin to show I went to see Umoja
Going to the show was a little last minute (grandma called us just after 4pm, and we had to be down there before 6:30), so daddy had to rush around to get us ready to go, and we made it with a few minutes to spare.

After show me and daddy went out through the stage door, and we got to meet some of the cast. They were quite intrigued by me and my story.

This weekend me and daddy are going to another festival, this one is called Taste of the Danforth.

A new first for us

I'm coming down off a big time high, today me and daddy got to ride in grandma's new truck, of course grandma wasn't there, grandpa was driving (it was a boys shopping trip). But we got to try my car seat in the new truck and adjust it to fit.
The outside of the truck, the back windows are tinted so we don't need to use the shade.
My car seat fits better in the new truck, and I can still see out the window

Front seat, daddy says there's lots of leg room.

Checking out my new ride

My stroller fits without having to fold it down

A wider shot of me in my car seat, daddy will have to do another fitting so he can keep an eye on me.
Daddy decided to leave the stroller in the truck when we did our grocery shopping, so I got to ride in the shopping cart.
"helping" daddy with the shopping

Holding onto our grocery money, we use a gift card so we don't have to carry cash.
I had so much fun, and as you can see I helped daddy out with MY groceries (lettuce, and parsley). The carrot tops were free. After that I lost interest in shopping and decided to snack.
